24-25 March 2016 the police attache of the Royal Netherlands Embassy Thomas Knaap, his assistant Alena Marenkova, liaison officer of the Belgium Embassy Anre Neis visited Kirov.
The purpose of the diplomats visit in our town was meetings with teachers and students of the Volga-Vyatksky Institute of the Kutafin Moscow state university of law and the Kirov branch of the College of Law of the International Police Association.
Guests were welcomed warmly on the Vyatka land by rector Volga-Vyatksky institute of the Kutafin Moscow state university of law Nikolay Shaklein, the president of the Kirov regional branch of the International Police Association Nikolay Koshcheev, director of the Kirov branch of the College of law of the IPA Igor Sharipov, teachers and students of these educational institutions. Before the start of speech all participants observed a minute of silence civilians, who died tragically on March 22 as a result of terrorist acts in Brussels. Then Thomas Knaap and Anre Neis told the teachers and students about history, culture, current status of Belgium and the Netherlands. Police work of these countries in combating with the transnational crime, the system of selection and training of police officers and their secondment to foreign countries to strengthen international cooperation in the crime prevention aroused particular interest .
Also Thomas Knaap, Alena Marenkova and Andre Neis attended Vyatka art school. The director of the this institution Elena Opaleva conducted a tour of the college, showed the exposition of ceramics, paintings, which are created by Vyatka artists. 1st year student of the Vyatka art school Tatiana Ogorodnikova gave portraits of the kings of Belgium and Netherlands to guests . It turned out that Thomas Knaap served in the security service of the royal family and was personally acquainted with the King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander. Foreign guests managed to visit youth camp "Living Water". They were able to relax, to do sports, to visit the holy places of the Velikoretskoye village. Foreign diplomats also visited the historical places of the town. The guests visited the Museum of ice cream and chocolate before their departure. They appreciated the products very much and made commemorative photos in the IPA Kirov office. Individually we like to mention the great work of the embassy employee Alena Marenkova. She translated the speech of Thomas Knaap and Andre Neis from the difficult Dutch language to Russian during the business trip. The next visit of the two diplomats will be planned in October of this year. It will be the time of the international scientific conference in honor of the famous Russian lawyer, our countryman K.A. Nevolin in the Volga-Vyatksky institute of the Kutafin Moscow state university of law.
