Tokyo Conference
On May 18-23, 2025, Tokyo hosted a Conference of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, organized by the International Police Association (IPA), which was attended by representatives of 11 states, including a delegation from the Russian Section of the IPA. At a reception with the Tokyo Police Commissioner General, Sakoda Yuzdi, the participants got acquainted in detail with the work of the police at the central communications control center. The Chief of the Metropolitan Police paid much attention to the delegates and noted the positive work of the IPA in Japan. The delegates visited the Imperial Palace and the police and security service on the territory of the complex, which was closed from public display.
In a speech at the Conference, Ivan Sardak, President of the All-Russian Police Association, noted that an attempt by unfriendly countries to exclude Russia from the ranks of the International Police Community had failed. This was confirmed by the other participants of the Conference. The Executive Committee and IPA President Martin Hoffmann noted that the Russian Section had brought a number of useful initiatives to the common cause, for example, the holding of an International film festival on Police work in Moscow. The world is changing, among other things, thanks to such friendship bridges as international public organizations. Among them is the IPA, which this year celebrates its 75th anniversary. There are about 370,000 people in its ranks today. At the closing evening of the Conference, Ivan Sardak presented a certificate of honor to his colleague and organizer of this meeting, Masahito Kanetaki. Just a year ago, at a conference in North Macedonia, the Japanese side supported the initiative to expel the Russian Section from the IPA. Today, at a meeting in Japan, we were apologized for our rash decision.
The Rissian IPA thanks the Japanese Embassy for the assistance of the Russian delegation at the Asia-Pacific Region Conference. And we continue our work.
